Mifuko is a Finnish design brand creating handmade baskets and bags, in partnership with women artisans in rural Africa. Each piece blends Nordic design with traditional African craftsmanship. here baskets are woven with plastic used for its durability and consistent quality. They are water-resistant, easy to clean, suitable for outdoor use, and food-safe. Whenever possible, we use upcycled plastic.

Handmade from durable Kenyan sisal in cream and grey, with thick, strong vegetable-tanned handmade leather handles. This sturdy basket weighs nearly two pounds and features a trapeze shape that lets flowers or greenery rest naturally against the sides. Finished with a handmade African shell tassel added by us (not part of Mifuko’s original design). Washable, flexible, and softens with use. Sustainably grown Kenyan sisal.
